An Evening with Margaret Atwood

On November 25, 2025, the Hamilton Convention Centre hosts An Evening With Margaret Atwood, a benefit for Interval House Hamilton, which provides shelter and support for women and children affected by violence. Timed with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the global 16 Days of Activism campaign, the event highlights both literature and social justice.

The evening features a one-hour conversation between Atwood and broadcaster Ralph Benmergui, exploring themes from The Handmaid’s Tale and The Testaments in relation to women’s rights, politics, and contemporary culture. 

Proceeds directly support Interval House’s emergency shelter and community programs, including counselling, advocacy, and peer support.

Bringing together a world-renowned author with a vital local cause, the event offers an inspiring opportunity to reflect, engage, and contribute to meaningful change in Hamilton.
