HCC’s Ammar Balika Recipient of 2017 CSAE Trillium Chapter Emerging Talent Award
On October 4th, 2017, the Hamilton Convention Centre’s very own Ammar Balika received the CSAE Board of Directors, Trillium Chapter’s 2017 Emerging Talent Award for a Business Member, recognizing his ongoing support, involvement and outstanding contributions to the CSAE Trillium Chapter.
All nominees underwent a rigorous review process by the Membership Committee which led to the final award recipient selection by the CSAE Board of Directors. CSAE Trillium Chapter Executive Member nominees were assessed based on the following criteria: Leadership – the individual has demonstrated qualities that hold remarkable promise as a future leader, Creativity – the individual has shown creativity through his/her work with the Trillium Chapter and finally Outstanding Talent – the individual has been able to display outstanding talent in his/her first five years of CSAE Membership.
As Director of Sales at the Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen’s, Ammar Balika is one of the City of Hamilton’s most respected tourism ambassadors whose efforts have contributed to the rebranding of Hamilton as a mid-market convention destination. He has championed the development of the Hamilton Convention Centre’s provincial and national sales program, playing a key role in assembling the proposal to secure the 2015 Juno Awards Gala. As a result of his commitment towards renewing the Hamilton Convention Centre’s status as a convention destination, the venue was recognized as the region’s top facility by the Consumer Choice Awards.
